Puffins Notebook: Chargers D picked up

The Puffins made no waiver claims again this week but did pick up the SD Chargers D Wednesday morning. The Chargers play at Washington on Sunday and will get the start as the Puffins play Ryan Fagan's Crapshoot.
"We respect what Denver has done offensively this year," stated Derek Harlan. "And with it being a short week to prepare for both our defenses, we wanted to add another option to the roster."
The Chargers have been consistent as they have scored fewer than 12 points only twice all season.

In other news...
...getting cut to make room for the Chargers D was K John Carney. Carney was unlikely to see much action down the stretch and was the logical choice. "What can I say? My team sucks and I'd probably have cut me weeks ago-I knew I shoulda went to N'Awlins on my bye week"...the Puffins roster consists of only six players who have been with the team since draft day-Tom Brady, LaDainian Tomlinson, Donte Stallworth, Mike Williams, Jeff Wilkins, & the Falcons D...newcomer Marvin Harrison was disappointed with his performance in his Puffin debut. "I was pressing, trying too hard to make a big splash. I just need to get back to the basics"...it didn't take long for Byron Leftwich and Chris Brown to make a statement as the new Puffins had big games while watching from the reserves. Their time there will be short-lived as they both will be in the lineup this week against the Crapshoot...several Puffin cheerleaders were among those upset with the Eli Manning trade. "He's soooo hot!" was the common response when each was asked to share her thoughts regarding Eli. However, one young lady, who declined to share her name wasn't too sad to see him go. "I'm carrying his baby and he's denying it and I don't know what to do," the girl said before exploding into tears. "He said, he, he, lov...loved me and I, I...I just don't know"
Wow. This is news to us here. We're pretty sure Eli would've told us about this, but you never know. We'll do some research and give you an update next week.
