Strange Brew for Clemens
Responding to an article posted on this website Friday morning, Houston Astro Roger Clemens went off on owner Derek Harlan following his less than steller performance against the Brewers.
"What the (heck) does he think he's doing?" asked Clemens when questioned about the article which lobbies for Chris Carpenter to win the Cy Young Award. "---- yea I'm pissed. This dumb mother------ trades for me and then writes an article calling me out like that? I'll tell you what-you tell that Harlan to keep that sh!t up and see what happens," ranted Clemens.
Clemens was in no joking matter following his most dismal start of the year against the Brewers Friday night. His line: 3 IP, 5H, 5 ER, 5 BB, 2K. When read his game stats, Clemens responded by saying "Tell dipsh!t that now they can retire number 5 while they're at it."
Clemens later began to compose himself. "It just hurts, you know? I mean, I want to win and I'm doing all I can...I just felt like I tried too hard tonight. I was playing for myself and not my team...I don't know...it just sucks right now, but give me the ball again in five days and I'll give it my best."Knights owner Derek Harlan could not be reached for comment, but his agent said that he never intended to hurt Clemens personally.

This is very reminiscent of the time Kamikazes manager George Castanza, angry about Greg Maddux throwing a pitch that broke Len Dykstra’s arm on Opening Day, said he was going to break Maddux’s “three million dollar arm.” A few weeks later the ‘Kazes traded for Maddux, and the clubhouse was a madhouse for a while until Castanza and Maddux settled their differences.
