What has happened to this blog?

I noticed the other day that my blog is no longer linked over at TKN, so I figure I now have exactly zero people checking here, so in an attempt to regain my readers, I thought maybe I should post something. Pietsch has even started taking shots at me in his blog. Yea, I saw that.
I thought about maybe making 5-10 real small posts to make it seem like I really did a lot to update this, but that's not my style. My favorite posts are the long ones that ramble on-like my football predictions and Puffin notebook, so I think I'll just do that.
  • Have you seen the Disney movie Cars? I cannot lie, I didn't really know what to expect-especially considering that this is like the second movie we've taken Brooks to. But I must admit, it is one of the best movies I've seen at the theater in a while. Whether you have kids or not, you would enjoy it.
  • The MLB Draft was exciting this year as a former player was selected in the 8th round by the Minnesota Twins. Brian Dinkelman was the 246th overall player chosen and is currently playing for the Elizabethton Twins in the Appalachian League. A week following the draft, another former player (from the same team) Lance Marcum signed as a free agent with the Cardinals and is on the roster of the State College Spikes. Dinkelman is a middle infielder and Marcum a pitcher.
  • Back in June, the Knights and AAA made another blockbuster trade. The Knights sent Morgan Ensberg, Brandon Phillips, Khalil Greene, & Russ Martin to AAA in exchange for David Wright, Jorge Julio, & Joel Guzman. The trade seemed to jumpstart the struggling Knights, who have since climbed to as high as 3rd place in the MVRL standings.
  • Speaking of the MVRL, with the All-Star Break fast approaching, my house is available for the party, but being in Centralia, it would eliminate any chance of Lincolnball.
  • I've still been running and just recently registered to run the Lewis & Clark 1/2 Marathon in St. Charles, MO on September 17 and the Memphis Marathon on December 2.
  • A big congrats to Josh Kinney who finally got the call this past Sunday to the Show. Kinney is a QU graduate and good guy. Hopefully, he'll help out a struggling Cardinal bullpen.

Glad to have you back, man. Marcum--wow, I remember him from basketball hitting a helluva big shot against the Rams at Salem. I always heard he was a good guy. Have fun at the draft and say hi to the usual suspects for me.TQ
