Puffins Add Frerotte, Parker to Roster

Wednesday morning the Horned Puffins added QB Gus Frerotte and WR Samie Parker to their roster. Getting the boot were the Houston Texans Defense and WR Tyrone Calico. "We hated to use a waiver pick on Frerotte, but we would've hated to see someone else pick him up," quipped owner Derek Harlan. "He's in a new system with a good young coach (Nick Saban) and sometimes you just never know with guys like that. Plus, we aren't sure that Eli (Manning) is ready to play at OC (owner's choice) on a weekly basis just yet."

As for Parker, Harlan picked him up for "free," not having to use a waiver pick on him. "Let's face it, the Titans are not very good. Even though they'll have to throw it a lot being down, I don't think Tyrone is going to have the year we thought he would. Plus, we just like Parker."

The Horned Puffins are in action this week facing off against Ryan Fagan's Crapshoot.
