Knights to make a Championship run

In a move that could be the first of many for the Harlan Knights, the team has sent Derrek Lee and next year's 5th round draft pick to the Rampage in exchange for Nick Johnson & Pedro Martinez.
"We're in a situation where we felt we owe it to ourself and our fans to make every attempt to repeat," said owner/GM Derek Harlan. "You look back on the great runs by the Kamikazes in the early '90s and then by Fagan when he repeated in '00 & '01 and you realize just how amazing those accomplishments are. We're going to do everything we can to win this thing again this year."
While Nick Johnson is enjoying a solid year, it was difficult for Harlan to part with Lee, who has now been traded on the day of the All-Star game two years in a row. "Yea, we're giving up a legit player, but you do what you gotta do, you know? It's probably a better deal for Terry (Milt, Rampage owner) since Pedro is a 1-year guy, but we had to do it," added Harlan.
Don't be surprised to see the Knights, in addition to picking 2nd in the AL free agent frenzy, make another trade or two before the night is done.
