Puffins Notebook: More concerns at WR

The ever-changing roster of the Horned Puffins has yet to solve an ongoing problem-a solid #3 WR. This week, the team waited for "free" pickups to begin to nab Steelers WR Nate Washington. Can Nate step up and be a contributer for the Puffins? "Who knows?" admits GM Derek Harlan. "We're probably going to start talking trade with a few owners in the next week or two. We have a few guys that we've had our eyes on for a few weeks who hopefully can be had for a reasonable price. We'd really like to see Chris Chambers get a QB that has a clue so his game can get back to where it was a year ago, but we can only do so much," added Harlan.

In other news...
...the team dropped Hank Baskett to make room for Washington. Baskett was picked up late last week in favor of Arnaz Battle...the team also acquired RB Wali Lundy and cut TE Owen Daniels. "I know that we'll need a TE on L.J.'s bye week, but maybe Lundy will be the man this time around and we'll have another chip to use to get a WR," said Harlan...this past weekend marked the second in a row that was a bit crazy for Harlan. After spending some time at Disneyworld in week 5, he spent week 6 in his hometown of Mt. Vernon. The occasion? His sister's wedding. Ashley tied the knot with Bryan Cherry on Saturday afternoon at First United Methodist Church. The weekend included the rehearsal and dinner on Friday, the Wedding and reception on Saturday, and a Sunday brunch at Bryan's parents, where they opened gifts. "I was exhausted," said the Puffins GM. "I mean, beween all the wedding stuff, watching the Cardinal games, getting my lineup sorted out, and then watching that Rams' roller coaster...I don't know how much more I coulda handled." What a weenie! Evidently he's the only person to have had a hectic weekend. Nonetheless, we here at tkn2 send out our best to Ashley and Bryan-who are already at home back in Connecticut.
