Lewis and Clark 1/2 Marathon
Sunday morning I ran the Lewis & Clark 1/2 Marathon in St. Charles, MO (this isn't really news since Hudnall already busted me out on this on the league's website). It was the second 1/2 marathon I've ran (St. Louis being the other back in April). The race began at 7:00, but that didn't stop the humidity from making its presence felt as it was much warmer than I had hoped it would be.The course was nice-much of it being on the Katy Trail-except for a hill just before the end of the 12th mile. It was brutal. It also ruined what had been a nice time, as I had to stop to stretch my cramping calves. Oh well.
My overall chip time ended up being 1 hour, 41 minutes, & 51 seconds-which comes to a 7:46/mile pace. I finished 171st out of 2925 runners and 21st out of 191 in my age group (30-34). Thanks to Hud for snapping the photo to the right.
And speaking of Hud, what he may lack in endurance is more than made up for by his wife Becky. She ran the thing in 1 hour, 27 seconds, & 59 seconds. That was good for 24th overall and 1st in her age group (25-29). According to the Fleet Feet website, that time is a new course record for that division. Wow. Congrats to Becky. Interested in the results? Here you go.
Interested in running? Lace 'em up, stretch, and take off. Give it a few weeks and you won't really get sore anymore and you'll feel great. Need motivation?
