Puffins Notebook: Welcome back!

Who says you can't go home again? Late Friday afternoon the Derek Harlan and Eric Hoffman agreed on a deal that sends Joe Jurevicius, Alex Smith, and next year's highest possible 1st round pick to the Buffet Boys for Tom Brady and Marvin Harrison.
"We're thrilled," said Harlan. "Both of these guys have been with us in the past and have had a hand in some of success we've had here. Marvin's been here on about four different occasions and Tom was such a consistent performer for us last year. We absolutely hated giving up our 1st rounder, but we had two huge needs heading into the playoffs-QB and WR-and we did what we had to do. We've by no means locked up our division, but you have to always look ahead and we feel this gives us a legitimate chance come weeks 14, 15, and 16."

In other news...
...the team has been struggling with Eli Manning's slump at QB. Obviously, Brady was not brought in to sit the bench. Do we have a QB controversy brewing? "No. Absolutely not," says Harlan. "We plan to use both most of the time, but with some of the matchups each guy has, he may find himself on the bench once in a while."...RB Willis McGahee's injury was a major factor in the decision to acquire the two players. "We really liked the thought of playing three RBs each week, but with him out I can't really lean on Leon (Washington) and Wali (Lundy) week in and week out," stated Harlan...Speaking of Leon Washington-he was the talk of the town this week as it was realized that he appears to be giving the finger to the camera in one of his bowman football cards. "Man, I was just messin'," says Washington. "They took like fiddy or a hunnerd shots of me and I be goofin' once or twice an they go an make a card like that? That they fault, not mine!"
