Sunday to Remember for Burke, Harlan
What began as a big day for Knights' owner/GM Derek Harlan ended as the biggest day in the life of Chris Burke. The Knights' rookie keeper in '05, Burke ended the Atlanta Braves' season with a dramatic, 18th-inning walk-off home run."Man, what a year!" exclaimed Burke after his blast allowed the Astros to give the Braves the opportunity to start making tee-times for the second year in a row. "First an MVRL Title and now this, I'm speechless."
Burke's homer made a winner out of Knights' teammate and tkn2 favorite Roger Clemens. Clemens notched the win in just his second ever relief appearance. "Hey, this ain't about me-talk to the kid," said Clemens in referring to Burke's heroics. "I'm just happy we won-I can't imagine being able to bounce back after a loss like that."
The Astros move on to face the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS beginning Wednesday in St. Louis.

Sunday morning's big event for Harlan was his participation in the Chicago Marathon. "I've always been intrigued by what one must go through to run 26.2 miles, so I figured why not give it a shot?" said Harlan. Harlan's first marathon will not soon be forgotten, but his future plans may be changing. "I said that this would be a one-time thing, but I'm so damn competitive I think I'll probably run a few more and see if I can't get my time down to someday qualify for Boston," stated Harlan. (Harlan's time was 3 hrs, 42 min, 59 sec. 3 hrs, 10 min is needed to qualify) "I know that I don't feel nearly as bad as I expected to and if I can continue to progress in my training, maybe I can do it (qualify for Boston)."
