Puffins Swing Blockbuster

Trade talks between the Horned Puffins and Pietschskins, which began early Saturday morning, ended early Sunday morning with the Puffins dealing franchise running back Willis McGahee.
"It's tough to deal a guy like Willis, but we're not looking to rebuild right now-we're looking to make a playoff run," said GM Derek Harlan. "We'll probably take some heat initially, but I think once our fans realize that there are receivers out there that can score on a consistent basis, they'll appreciate the deal."
Headed to the 'Skins with McGahee are receivers Ashley Lelie and Roy Williams, as well as TE Dallas Clark. In return, the Puffins get RB Thomas Jones, WRs Jimmy Smith and Reggie Wayne, and TE L.J. Smith.
"We've been disappointed with Ashley since the season began and it was obvious he was in need of a fresh start somewhere else. As for the others (Williams and Clark)-we think they'll be solid contributers this year for Troy, but we had to upgrade at those positions," Harlan stated.
The wild card of the deal is Jones, who is questionable this week versus the Vikings. "He's had a great year thus far, but with the knee injury he suffered last week, he's a bit of a gamble. But hey, in order to win in this league, you gotta take some chances," added Harlan.
The players expect to be in the lineup for today's showdown with the Creamers.
