TMC-Week 7

What a week. I think it can be best summed up with this little tidbit---Sunday marked the first time I've made the replay board at the Dome. And what makes that even better is that just one quarter earlier guess who I saw on there? Scott Quinn. Two MVRL owners on the jumbotron in the span of about 45 minutes. Wow. And the Rams won the game after looking like they were dead on the first two drives by the Saints. A good day indeed, but not good enough to get me to run out and pick up Jamie Martin off the waiver wire. Is he still available? If someone has already picked him up, I'm sorry. Not sorry that I thought he was available, sorry for you that your QB situation has reached that level.
The Rams win was nice, but there were bigger stories out there. LaDainian Tomlinson failed to have a big game. In fact, he didn't do squat in Philly. The Redskins O is looking better than Theismann/Riggins/Monk with Brunell/Portis/Moss. The Vikings somehow won a game to prolong the inevitable (canning Mike Tice), and the Bengals got a wakeup call from the Steelers. And how about Eli Manning and the G-Men pulling one out against the Broncos?
Enough NFL talk already-here's what matters...

Al 78, Hud 51 (prediction- Al 81, Hud 73)
I'm saying this was an upset, but I'd hardly call it that simply because of the Panthers bye. I'm sure Hud was dreading this game for that reason and a good one it was. Hud did get a nice game out of the Colts D (again), but unfortunately for him, that was it. Meanwhile, Daunte Culpepper let everyone know that he is still alive and capable of putting up good fantasy numbers, despite the fact that their ship (no, not that one) is sinking.
Game ball goes to--Al's QBs. Culpepper and Drew Brees topped 300 yds with 2 TD, good for 18 pts each.

Fagan 89, Daniels 79 (prediction- Fagan 108, Daniels 102)
Do you think that Clinton Portis had something to prove in this one? After being traded from the Double Down to the Crapshoot for Terrell Owens, he showed his former owner what he was missing, going crazy on a horrible 49ers outfit. Daniels got good games from Aaron Brooks and Mike Anderson, but the Redskins duo of Brunell and Portis, along with the Lions D, were too much to overcome.
Game ball goes to--the guy with a stripper's pole in his basement (he does-watch MTV Cribs). Portis netted 113 yds and scored 3 TDs, 25 pts.

Big Pietsch 100, Hoffman 72 (prediction- Hoffman 86, Big Pietsch 80)
Big Pietsch got nice games from Favre, Burress, & Gates. Hoffman got nice games from his RBs, but his franchise QB is killing him. Peyton Manning, where are you? If I was Hoffman, I'd tell Peyton to take his sorry, flash-in-the-pan-49-touchdown-passing, dorky-looking, 249-total-yards-getting rear end and get lost. I would. He sucks.
Game ball goes to--LaMont Jordan. 162 yds and 3 TDs, 28 pts. Hoffman, not to bring up a bad subject, but didn't you trade Jordan to Ryan? You lose by 28 and that's how many points Jordan scored? The fantasy football gods must not have approved of that deal.

Derek 85, Wes 51 (prediction- Wes 99, Derek 82)
If you'd have told me that the only guy in my lineup who wouldn't score would be L.T., I'd have thought you were crazy. Guess what? L.T. was the only guy in my lineup who didn't score. No huge games, but a balanced attack got the job done.
Game ball goes to--(I'm Sorry, Falcons D) Eli Manning. This guy is hot. He's playing some good football, too. He's really closing the gap on Carson Palmer for mancrush of the year. Anyway, not huge numbers, but a 4th quarter, game-winning drive that ended with a TD pass to Amani Toomer will get you a game ball. 2 TD passes, 8 pts.

Scott 95, Lil Pietsch 69 (prediction- Scott 85, Lil Pietsch 81)
Troy got another big game from Edgerrin James, but that was it. Scott got points from all his starters, including another big game out of Smooth Carlos Santana Moss. And he finally gives Mewelde Moore a start and is rewarded for it. It's about time.
Game ball goes to--Steven Jackson. Keep Martz away from this team and they have a chance. Oops, I was thinking and my fingers were typing-I didn't say that out loud. Anyway, Jackson went for 2 TDs and 116 total yds, 19 pts.

Ted 62, Terry 37 (prediction- Ted 117, Terry 79)
This was the half-off game. TQ didn't get the huge games I thought he would, but he got enough to get the W and let's be honest, that's all we really want isn't it?
Game ball goes to--Jason Elam. I am so sick of giving game balls to kickers I could scream. Seriously. Elam kicked 3 FGs (2 from 40+) and 2 XPs, 13 pts.

Another week in the books. Congrats to the winners, especially if I picked you to lose. I was 4-2 though, so I'm getting luckier. Also, don't forget to get your claims in my midnight.
