Week 7 MVRL Predictions

Friday Night Lights. Good book, good movie, and good opportunity to steal some attention away from the World Series. This week, we have the Chiefs and Dolphins kicking things off for us a bit early, as the two teams suit up like they are back in high school. Because of yet another hurricane making its way towards Miami, the NFL has announced that the KC/Mia game will be played on Friday night. I can't lie-I'm jacked. I don't even have anyone playing in this one in any of my leagues, but it gives me the opportunity to watch a game that I otherwise would pay no attention to. Am I weird? Sure, but you can't tell me you aren't at least a little excited about an NFL game being on TV on a Friday night.
There are some other interesting matchups as well-the Packers and Vikings should combine to set a new league record for turnovers and points in their game, the Bengals get a tough test playing host to the Steelers, and the Rams return home to play to NO/SA/BR Saints. They gotta beat the Saints, don't they? With the baseball playoffs officially over for me, I'll be making my first trip to the Dome this season, so I expect a win (but big games from WR Donte Stallworth & K John Carney).
Locally, we have some interesting matchups as well. Let's take a look at 'em...

Carpetbaggers @ Hitters
Week 7. The Week Hud has been dreading... and not because of Al, but rather the Panthers bye week. I like Hud's team, but I'm smelling and upset here. Big games from Culpepper, Boldin, & Keyshawn, and a huge game from the Redskins D. Yep, I'm taking Al, but McNabb & the Colts D will keep it close. Al 81, Hud 73.

Double Down @ Crapshoot
This one's evenly matched, but I'm giving the edge to Fagan-I like his RBs and TE Jason Witten (again). We could see a Maddog/Rampage-like finish to this one. Fagan 108, Daniels 102.

Creamers @ Buffet Boys
Favre playing indoors is not a good thing for the Packers. But this is fantasy football and the wins and losses don't matter! Unfortunately for Pietsch, Hoffman has Peyton Manning going against the sorry Houston Texans. I seeing another close finish, but Hoffman sneaking out with a W. Eric 86, Ryan 80.

Benchpressers @ Horned Puffins
It's on. You think Wes is scared? He placed the Puffins in the top spot of his Power Rankings for the first time ever this week. Was that an attempt to get the Puffs to take it easy on the Hulkamaniacs? I'm not sure, but in reality it won't even matter. I like the Puffs revamped WRs and L.T. will get his, but I'm picking Wes in an upset for two reasons. One, he'll win so he can hop back over everyone to the top spot of his rankings and two, I refuse to bet against Carson Palmer. I have a mancrush on him and he ain't even on my team! Has that ever happened before? Wes 99, Derek 82.

Pietschskins @ Kamikaze Maddogs
What a bunch of thugs! I mean, good grief Charlie Brown. Check out these cats' mugshots. Am I previewing a football game or staring at a lineup on America's Most Wanted? Especially that wildman Shayne Graham. He looks like one bad motha. I wouldn't want to see him in a dark alley late at night. Man. Oh yea, yet another close one-with Scott being on the good side this week. Scott 85, Troy 81.

Rampage @ Burrowing Owls
Once Terry sets his lineup for this week he's going to see that it doesn't matter. That's no knock on his team-he's one of the best expansion teams we've ever had-it's just that this is TQ's week. With his matchups, he's my pick for high point total. Drew Bledsoe, Donald Driver, & Alge Crumpler are all primed for monster games as TQ rolls. Mr. Quinn 117, Mr. Milt 79.

I wish all of you the best of luck (yes, even you Wes) and GO CAR...oops...GO RAMS!
