The Top Five: NFL Player Jerseys

I'm interrupting my Busch Stadium countdown to bring you my own Top 5 Countdown of NFL Player Jerseys. I always hear how "so and so has the hottest selling jersey in the NFL." Well, with that in mind, I decided to make my own list of player jerseys. Are these picks biased? You better believe it. But it's my blog and if you disagree with my picks, start your own.

#5) Ben Roethlisberger's home no. 7 jersey

This one makes the top 5 for a few reasons. One, the Steelers home uniforms are among the best in the NFL. Whether you like the Steelers or not, you cannot say they don't have a good-lookin uni. And two, it's Ben Roethlisberger! He may not be that great to have on your fantasy football team, but he's livin' the dream! If the Steelers are AFC Champs within the next three years, folks will claim he's twice as good as Tom Brady.

#4) Larry Fitzgerald's home no.11 jersey

I actually like the Cardinals new home uniforms. I'm not sold on the road uni, though. I just don't like the team color, with the name in white thing on the back of those. Anyhoo, the home one's nice. Plus, your talking about a guy who'll be one of the top 5 WRs in the league for years to come. If I ever land Fitzgerald on one of my fantasy teams, I'll get this jersey.

#3) Willis McGahee's home throwback no.21 jersey

How sweet are the Bills throwbacks? They actually tried to get the league to allow them to wear them as their main uniform this year. Unfortunately, the league said "no" and so the Bills had to put them away after week 2. You can bet that within the next two years the Bills will be wearing these on a weekly basis.

#2) Carson Palmer's alternate no.9 jersey

Man, the Bengals have some ugly uniforms! I mean, they are aweful! However, love is blind. Therefore, I've requested that Santa bring me one of these bad boys this year. Under most circumstances, I would never have a Bengals jersey anywhere near my top 50, let alone my top 5, but c'mon, it's Carson Palmer!

#1) LaDainian Tomlinson's throwback no.21 jersey

Simply the greatest football uniform of all time. Not really, but I love the Chargers' powder blues. Again, I know I'm biased, but you gotta admit, this is a great jersey. It just doesn't get much better than baby blue. Whether it's the old Chargers, old baseball Cardinals, Phillies, Expos, Royals, Braves, Blue Jays, or even Cubs---it's just better if it's baby blue.
